To achieve this, the spaces were opened and unified as much as possible, creating greater fluidity and connection between them. This approach generated cross views that add both functional and aesthetic quality to the home. The kitchen becomes the central space and the main link between the interior and exterior, with direct access to the southwest-facing garden. It is designed around a large central island, conceived to allow circulation around it and to encourage a more social and ritual dimension around the act of cooking. Through wide new openings in the former load-bearing walls, the kitchen connects with the dining room and living area. This creates fluid, triangular circulation on the ground floor, reinforcing the sense of openness and natural light throughout the space. Regarding materiality, a continuous floor finish was chosen to cover the entire ground floor, while a warmer material such as wood was introduced on the first floor, including the staircase that descends onto the ground floor surface. White dominates the remaining surfaces, reflecting and distributing the maximum amount of natural light throughout the interior. Per fer-ho, es va optar per obrir i unificar els espais en la mesura del possible, creant una major fluïdesa i connexió entre ells. Aquesta actuació va generar visuals creuades que aporten qualitat funcional i estètica a l’habitatge. La cuina es converteix en l’espai central i en el principal punt d’unió entre interior i exterior, amb sortida directa al jardí orientat a sud-oest. Es projecta com una gran illa central, concebuda per poder circular-hi al voltant i potenciar-ne un ús més social i litúrgic entorn de l’acte de cuinar. A través d’amples obertures en forma de pòrtics als antics murs de càrrega, la cuina es connecta amb el menjador i la sala d’estar. D’aquesta manera s’aconsegueix una comunicació fluida i triangular a la planta baixa, reforçant la sensació d’espai obert i lluminós. Pel que fa a la materialitat, es va optar per un paviment continu que recorregués tota la planta baixa, mentre que a la planta primera es va incorporar un material més càlid com la fusta, incloent-hi l’escala que desemboca sobre el paviment de la planta baixa. El blanc domina la resta de superfícies per reflectir i transportar la màxima quantitat de llum a través de tot l’interior.
